The team of Veneshe and Bella Pinturawas again selected to participate in the 2015 Bucks County Designer House and Gardens. Sponsored by the Village Improvement Association of Doylestown, PA, the 2015 Bucks County Designer House and Gardens brings together artists and designers to transform a property into a showcase of their work. We named our powder bath and alcove "Piccolo Spazio" and packed a lot of design punch into our little space.
The walls and ceiling are designed as a soothing portal through which one passes to the master suite and guest bath. We’ve incorporated architectural elements and Venetian plaster to juxtapose old world formality and modern sensibility: walls finished in marmorino plaster, custom finished crown molding and a hand painted trompe l’oeil ceiling mural. The soft slightly polished surface is embedded with mica flakes that catch the light as one moves through the space.
A scalloped border executed in soft metallic Milano lime plaster, runs along the top of the wall, creating a transition from the ceiling and softening the square shape of the room. The ceiling design is a hand painted mural on canvas, on canvas with an architectural element detailed in the center.
An upcycled art deco mirror is installed behind the sink framed with branches and grasses framing the mirror.
Artwork created for the space is a series of antique tin mirrors which echo the feature tiles in the half wall. All original works were created for this show house bringing in silver gold leaf and metal textures to contrast with the tumbled stone.
