When the owners of a Lancaster County farmhouse decided to expand and remodel their kitchen, their architect turned to Veneshe and Bella Pintura to spec the colors, textures and finishes.
Our palette was inspired by the warm, earthy colors of Italy - -terra-cottas, golds, and bright Tuscan blue, found in the beautiful Italian ceramics that the owners had collected in their travels to Tuscany. We worked with the homeowners to choose materials which would reflect the natural, organic and hand-hewn aesthetic that evoked the timeworn feeling of old world craftsmanship.
Sample boards of wall finishes, cabinet finishes and tile designs were created and approved and the work began. Seen here is a custom built range hood plastered with a warm grassello Venetian plaster, which was continued above the cabinets and between the ceiling beams. We were also commissioned to custom design and paint the kitchen cabinets, in an aged ivory and soft gold lime based milk paint.
In addition, we designed and installed the Mercer tile back splash, which features locally sourced, hand made tile from the Moravian Tile Works in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.
You can see more images of the completed project on the page for Tuscan kichen design, as well as in our Venetian Plaster Gallery.
